Research and Study Centre for Cardiac Arrhythmias in Munich
(MARS)
Our studies focus on optimising ablationDestruction of congenital, additional conduction pathways that cause cardiac rhythm disturbances. This is performed with the help of heat generation through cardiac catheters. approaches and techniques, as well as periprocedural management. State-of-the-art technologies related to imaging techniques and 3D mapping: the heart is scanned from the inside with a special cardiac catheter electrode and an “electrical map” is created. The procedure can be used in cardiac rhythm disorders that have a clear cause to precisely localise the disturbances in the conduction of impulses in the heart from an anatomical perspective. The ECG signals obtained are displayed and evaluated on a computer with high resolution. systems have been developed or validated from the experimental setting to clinical application. We would be pleased to hear from medical students as well as German and international scientists who are interested in our research projects – please contact us at epu@dhm.mhn.de.
