Emergency admissions and Chest Pain Unit (CPU) at the German Heart Centre Munich

Usually, admission to the German Heart Centre Munich is arranged by the general practitioner or specialist, a pre-treatment clinic or by emergency ambulance or helicopter via the rescue control centre. In the case of severe or life-threatening cardiovascular diseases, you can of course visit our emergency admissions unit without a referral. The Chest Pain Unit, cardiac catheterisation laboratory and surgery department are continuously staffed 24 hours a day.

Competent specialists are always in attendance at the German Heart Centre. An initial examination is carried out and additional examinations are carried out as required. After the examination results are available, the attending physicians decide on outpatient treatment or inpatient admission to the normal ward or intensive care unit.

In the event that treatment in hospital is not necessary, you will be discharged home with a therapy recommendation after the initial therapy has been completed. Your general practitioner or specialist will then take over further treatment.
