Psychological support for congenital heart defects

In the outpatient clinic for adults with congenitalCongenital. heart defects, there is a psycho-cardiological contact point where experienced psychologists and psychotherapists work together with (paediatric) cardiologists who are also qualified to treat adults with congenital heart defects. In the cardiology consultations, increased attention is paid to the psychological condition, the quality of life and a possible wish or need for psychosocial support and counselling. Studies on mental well-being in adults with congenital heart defects, video consultations, group services, as well as themed workshops (health promotion, exercise, nutrition, mindfulness) are currently being planned. In addition, increased cooperation with external psychosomatic specialist clinics is being established.
