Inpatient admission and cardiac catheterisation procedure

If you are suspected of having coronary heart disease, you will be admitted to the wards and prepared accordingly for a cardiac catheterisation. Our qualified doctors, nursing staff and assistants are on hand to take care of you.. In principle, all techniques and measures are also available for the treatment of seriously ill patients with concomitant diseases or for the elimination of any complications.

If the diagnosis of coronary heart disease with narrowing of a coronary vessel is confirmed in the cardiac catheter examination, the narrowed vessel is immediately reopened. Following the examination, you will be monitored on our normal wardor, in the case of more difficult interventions, on the intensive care unit. The duration of monitoring usually depends on the complexity of the heart disease and is between one and three days. In special cases, monitoring may take longer.

Emergencies

Patients with threatening resting symptoms (acute coronary syndrome) or with acute heart attacks are treated by us around the clock, seven days a week. Modern cardiovascular support procedures (ECMO/ Impella/IABP) are available for the care of critically ill patients. If you experience any symptoms, call the emergency services immediately on 112 – an emergency examination or treatment will then be carried out via our Chest Pain Unit.
