What we offer you

Fair and socially just remuneration is an essential factor in making us an attractive employer and in retaining employees. We remunerate our employees on the basis of the collective agreements that are customary for us: The basis for payment is the collective agreement of the federal states (TV-L). In the medical service, the basis is the collective agreement for doctors at university hospitals (TV-Ärzte). In addition, we offer special allowances for a variety of responsible activities, especially in nursing and medical-technical professions.

Further advantages under collective bargaining law

  • 30 days holiday/year
  • Annual special payments (in the TV-L domain)
  • Transparent salary structures
  • Capital-forming benefits

If your main place of residence is in the Munich conurbation, you will also receive a conurbation allowance. You will receive information on the amount and the requirements in the application process.

If you are employed in the nursing or medical-technical service, we will also be happy to offer you accommodation in our own staff home. The staff home is located in the immediate vicinity of the heart centre (approx. 5 minutes’ walk). We also have other apartments in the centre of Munich (near Sendlinger Tor). This makes for an uncomplicated start – without time-consuming flat hunting. We make every effort to offer an apartment to all interested newcomers, however, in case of high demand, there may be some waiting times. In addition, as an employee you can submit an “Application for allocation of state employee housing”. These apartments, awarded by the Free State of Bavaria, are affordable and well equipped.

Equipment of the staff home

The staff home consists of furnished one-bedroom apartments, which are equipped with a bathroom and kitchenette. Each flat also has a cellar area. All flats have a telephone/Internet connection (optional after activation) and a TV set (aerial). The monthly rent already includes all utilities (electricity, heating, water, waste disposal, aerial connection). A large number of apartments also have their own balcony.

Other facilities of the staff home:

  • 4 washing machines and 2 dryers (per unit of use € 1)
  • Basement for bicycle storage
  • Parking spaces (subject to availability)

Further information on availability will be provided by the personnel administration as part of the application process.

As part of the employment relationship, you are automatically registered with the Federal and State Government Employees’ Retirement Fund (Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder – VBL). This compulsory insurance, which is regulated by collective agreement – mainly financed by the employer – is your basic insurance for a lifelong occupational pension.

The VBL classic scheme ensures that you receive an occupational pension in addition to your statutory pension. This is a lifelong financial cushion with which you can fill part of your personal pension gap.
In addition, deferred compensation or the so-called Riester subsidy (VBLextra) is possible with the VBL.
Further information can be found on the homepage of the VBL.

First-class qualified colleagues are a decisive success factor for the benefit of our patients. The age structure of the population is changing. For example, life expectancy and the statutory retirement age of employees have increased in recent years and decades, but overall the population is declining. As a result, the number of older workers will increase in the long term and a shortage of younger qualified workers will arise.

In order to prevent this shortage of skilled workers and thus maintain our competitiveness and jobs in the long term, we offer prospects and make jobs attractive. We respond to demographic change with age-appropriate and flexible working time models. Further training opportunities and measures to promote health contribute to personal development and the maintenance of performance. We encourage our employees to take personal responsibility and give them appropriate freedom to make decisions. This enables us to come up with new solutions and better results with ideas and initiatives. In view of ever shorter innovation cycles and rapid technological progress, knowledge quickly becomes outdated. We offer all employees above-average training and further education opportunities. We support you in achieving your personal and professional goals.

The different perspectives, experiences, ideas and skills of the employees, which are expressed when working together in everyday life, make the German Heart Centre Munich a successful and innovative hospital. The German Heart Centre Munich is committed to promoting this diversity. We focus on the dimensions of age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and world view, sexual orientation and social origin.

In the composition of our teams, we pay special attention to the consideration of the respective dimensions and accompany our employees during the integration phase. Through targeted training and further education opportunities, we raise awareness among our employees of the topic of diversity and variety and are happy to answer any questions they may have. Furthermore, we offer our employees flexible working time models. The possibility to reduce the workload on a trial basis increases the acceptance of part-time work. Furthermore, we are aware of our social responsibility as an employer under public law. Our compulsory quota according to Section 154 SGB IX for the employment of severely disabled people is five per cent, and in 2018 we had 5.31 per cent and 5.04 per cent in 2020.

Reconciling career and family
Our employees should be able to reconcile work and personal life planning. For this reason, we create appropriate conditions and offers. We allow for part-time working if desired, provided this can be implemented from an organisational perspective. Shift models are set out in service agreements and continuously adapted. Diverse working time models take into account the different life phases of women and men. There are also opportunities for time off for care and parental leave. We take into account the return to work after parental leave and the needs of employees with families in general by offering flexitime/part-time jobs, home office (teleworking), flexible working hours or childcare support services wherever possible.

As part of your employment, take advantage of the comprehensive range of services offered by Central University Sports Munich. With over 600 individual events, there is something for everyone. Preventive health care is also a top priority. A health day organised by the staff council for our employees is very successful. Or take part in our spinal gymnastics. For some years now, we have also taken part in the company run in Munich (B2run) with our own team.

Our employees receive regular training on their working environment. Basic instructions in the field of occupational safety, the proper handling of medical devices or fire protection are covered by our compulsory training courses. Protective measures in the workplace, such as protective clothing, are a matter of course. Our company doctor, who is the point of contact for health and prevention, will advise you on questions relating to your health and safety at work. In addition to occupational health screening, workplace inspections are also carried out and you will be advised on specific occupational health problems.

Our company doctor also supports and accompanies our employees during:

  • Reintegration after a longer illness
  • Questions about maternity protection in the workplace
  • Advice on questions regarding the Infection Protection Act
  • Addiction problems
  • Mental strain and stress at the workplace
  • Health protection on business trips abroad
  • Ergonomics in the workplace
  • Emergency psychology

Every day, we offer our employees a balanced lunch at reasonable prices in our in-house staff restaurant. Likewise, on weekdays you can choose from our salad buffet, and there is also a vegetarian dish to choose from. In the summer months, you can also use the open space facing the garden for lunch breaks to talk to colleagues.

In addition to a summer party in our beautiful garden, we also offer our employees a Christmas party and staff outings organised by the staff council. We are also traditionally represented with a very good team at the annual “German Hospital Championships” football tournament.

Our care personnel have a variety of individual offers at their disposal:

  • Open-ended employment contracts
